It MIGHT even be worthwhile, on single sided panels, to FLIP them 'front' to 'rear'.
IF your 'old' panels were mylar TO the listener, this might be the presentation to which you are accustomed.
And the GOOD news, it NO HARM in trying.
It took me a LONG time to accomodate my 1.6s vs my former MG-1s. I tried ALL FOUR logical orientations and spent various amounts of time with each. When something obviously didn't work, I'd move on in just a few minutes. As I got closer to the eventual / final setup, the intervals between experiments got longer and longer.
