RE: True ...

I changed 2 things:
a) changing slabs of 1.5" thick wood to which my braced panel-supports were bolted to, to steel bases shaped in a 'U', and
b) flattening the angle of my mid/tweeter panels (so that they no longer point at my ears).

I believe a) couldn't possibly have caused the increase in sound stage width - so that means it must've been caused by b). But feel free to think otherwise. ;-)) I've thrown away the wood bases so I can't "go back", in any case.
