I just finished listening to Glen Gould' playing the Goldberg variations. (1982 version). I was totally mesmerized. The 3.7i were replaced by a concert grand - incredible. I had to wonder if the recording studio was the same dimensions as my listening room. It has been generally held that the two Gould recordings are the definitive performances. He is totally immersed in the music and his utterings throughout only add to the emotion and musicality of Bach's little creation. The music, the performance, the recording and these 3.7i are pure heaven.
