RE: Actively Triamping Magnepan ribbons..do you protect them or not ?

For added protection you can leave the capacitor (10uF) on the tweeter in place as part of the crossover - the tweeter high pass. That leaves you with one pole of the 2nd order tweeter HP to execute at line level, which would be doable with a single capacitor before the tweeter amp.

Similarly for the midrange you can REPLACE the low pass filter capacitor with a series inductor set for the same corner freq and execute the second half of the low pass with an RC filter joined with the high pass filter - placed before the midrange amp. It does not provide you with protection but makes execution of the passive line level crossover (PLLXO) very easy.and cheap.

The PLLXO solution is the cheapest and best sounding option.

That leaves you only with executing an active bass low pass filter, which you can build into a Marchand XM-9 with a copy of the stock XO slope.
