Power is the key...

though operating full range the bass levels show their limit. I use Crown Power Amps with over 1kWatt peak output into 4 Ohm and ave approached 112dB peak output. When I have run them full range (like you I usually use two subs), I EQ their 55-60Hz 5dB bass hump in my large 40Hz room and add a little bass compression at very high levels. DSP Amps are so useful!

In my small room, they sound pretty nice all on their own. - but I don't play them as loud there.
