Polarity reversal of the driver would result in something like a 15db suck-out in amplitude about two octaves above and below the acoustic crossover point. Whether or not you would find the altered results desirable is a question that you'd be better prepared to answer if you listened to them in this modified form.
OTOH, your playback of "ticks" might sound more realistic. Assuming you listen to more music than old, crusty LP's, you'd probably be best served by leaving your speakers as Magnepan designed them.
