Davey - first, fear not. I don't EVER go messing with stuff I don't understand. So understanding (to a reasonable extent) will come before I make any change. To do otherwise is - IMO - foolhardy. But this discussion process is part of the process of gaining that understanding.
And I think you missed my point anyway...
I get the fact that Magnepan planned this. So any change is not a "fix". It's a change to what Magnepan intended. So were I to reverse the polarity of some drivers, it would be diametrically opposed to what the designers intended. And if unclestu is correct, the consequence would be a less seamless transition between drivers.
