Started with a Sony receiver as part of a system I bought when heading off to college in 1974. Don't remember the model number, but I could use just the preamp section, which came in handy when I got a...
Dynaco ST150. Purchased circa 1976. Beautiful blue meters! If I remember right I got it modded by Frank Van Alstine when he was running Jensen Stereo shop.
I sold the Dynaco and got a Audio Research Corp. D52B, followed by a ARC D110B, around 1984. I still have the D52B, which I love and had repaired by ARC some years ago, and intend to use it in a second system.
My current amps are a pair of ARC D200's, purchased around 2008, that I use to biamp my factory-rebuilt MGIII's.
As you can see, I tend to hang onto my gear for quite a while.
Regards,
Steve
