Yes, Roger, the 606 will drive the speakers to shut down as well.
The spec says that the input should not be no more than 40 Vpp (about 28,3 Vrms or 100W in 8 ohms) in order not to trigger the security feauters of the speakers, but as I said the did shut down driven lower than than.
