They are simply better amps built with better parts. Hence costing multiples of the Rotel and delivering 1/4 of the power.
The Rotel would do best driving something like Tympani bass panels or a Vandersteen.
The CLS sounds best (i.e. including dynamics and bass power) on large tube amps with 2 ohm taps. (not that the 2 ohm tap would necessarily sound best.)
