Al had either MG-20's or 20.1's. I use the chokes on the ribbon tweeters of the IIIa which are essentially the same as the 20.x. I also have 2201s on the mid-drivers because I am actively biamping and have no LP filters on the mids.
Al felt that the ribbon tweeter was acting as a RF antenna and, if this is the case, then the round or flat wire tweeters should behave the same way. In a "non-biamped" or standard configuration the woofer and mid-drivers have LP filters so the high frequencies are already filter out.
As far as which inductor to use, the only thing that matters is the inductance - 10 uH acts as a 1st order LP at ~64 KHz and should have little affect on the audio spectrum. A high amperage value was recommended only to minimize the DCR of the coil and a 9A (5502) or 20A (5522) is "overkill".
