awesome thanks again - I wouldn't doubt that claim

having owned it's younger brother the 1.6s for many years, even those could rival speakers in the 5 figures.

I'm always amazed when box owners would lurk, then visit here and proclaim "the 1.6s cannot do this, cannot do that", only to find out at the end they owned $20K (or more) pairs of speakers.

At $600 the MMGs may be the best 'value' in high-end speakers, but I'd wager the MG1.6 (original introductory cost I think was in the sub $1400 range) as the "biggest bang for your buck" speaker ever created.

The 20 series up that ante by rivaling speakers in the 6 figure range...

Ah...but where has the time gone?? my original setup: circa 1999; 1.6s and ye old trusty 555 Adcom. That room in a house we rented was incredible for the Maggies. We later bought a small condo that never re-capture that sound.
