Maggies & age?

What's your experience; is there some typical age for Maggies, after which they start to break in such a manner that they cannot be fixed at all anymore?

Delamination is quite easy to fix, ribbons can be refurbished, and for what I know, even wirings can be totally changed for new ones. But, is there something that cannot be fixed, and will occur sooner or later with older Maggies?

For example, will the driver's plastics come brittle at some stage, so that they start to break? Is it possible to change new plastics for the drivers, or even get whole new drivers for older 70's and 80's Maggies?
