I am totally surprised (and also envious of the flat curve) that this works. The attenuation caused by the passive pre and the PLLXO is no biggy if your source is adequate - most CDP's put out 2V. However I would think that the variable load impedance on the PLLXO with changes in the passive attenuation would play havoc with the crossover points. Did you alter your PLLXO to account for the change in the load impedance caused by changing pre's?
In any case, so much for theory and congratulations on one more step up the never ending ladder of tweaks.
