considering a new set of Krell mono will run you in the $60K range (and yes, yes I know there are probably more worthy amps on the market). Although the claim is they can easily be ran off 100wpc tube ampsMy only concern (assuming I've already won the lotto)is dealing with a pair of 1/2 ton speakers (upstairs placement is definitely out of the question!).
Built in '91 you gotta wonder if this planar raised the bar so high other planar builders felt threatened 'trickle down' models would take over the home market.
Not sure when Mr Winey took Apogee to court, but this one had to be the 'back breaker' (and at 1300 lbs; more ways than one lol..)
What a beauty though; wow-
