Hanging MG12s - Can it be done?

Hi all,
I'm a recent convert. I love my MG12s and I can't get enough of the Magnepan sound. I have a 2 year old who can't get enough of them either. She's been trying to climb them. A quick question for your all. I've had a pair of MGMC1s and have an extra set of the mounting hardware. The MG12 frames look plenty wide enough for the mounting hardware. I know these things like to have some room breathing room but they won't survive unless I get them up off the ground.
I suspect if they are wall mounted I'll lose something but what can I expect? Is it time to go with some box speakers? Say it ain't so!
