In fact, it appears to be quite an ingenious design. A while back, I experimented with a class D amp from Bel Canto and it surprised me - far better than I expected. I'd expect more from the Axiom product by virtue of its power supply. 'Over-built' appears to be a design philosophy for the amplifier modules. It's definitely an intriguing product and that price isn't bad.Try it out and let us know! ;-)
