Hey, MM, good to see you pursuing the in-room measurements. Like Neo mentioned, the REW software is great -- and free!
In addition to the USB mic that Neo mentions, in recent times Parts Express has also added another good INEXPENSIVE calibrated microphone, the iMM-6. The last time I bought one it was less than $20, landed.
It works like charm and can also be used in Android/iPxxx tablets & phones. On Win PC, using REW, it was able to stay close to my other calibrated mics. The added ability to use it in portable devices comes in really handy.
