The system sounds terrific now that the bananas are making better contact, but even with the W4S 500w amps (1000w @ 4 ohm) running near wide open, the music is being held back, like it's in 3rd gear, but I can' shift to 4th. I know this from when I was biamping with the active XO, the music expanded quite far in all directions

However, at near full throttle on the preamp the amp’s protection circuit engages briefly, I back down 1-2 steps and it’s fine, but the music is over there, not projecting towards me.

I want to see how much bi-wire will improve upon that, but all cables are terminated in bananas, so I can't double up on the amp binding posts.

I went to Rat Shack, to get spades to wrap around the bananas, but theirs were too small, and would not fit securely around the bananas

I expect to have Eichmann spades next week, so, to be continued on that front.

Failing that, I will go back to biamping with the active XO
