Your question made me curious. I have Cafe Blue on the Premonition Records/Music Direct LP issue. So I just listened* to the "Taste of Honey" cut and it played cleanly without any suggestion of clipping or overload. Since the first portion of this song is relatively soft I can't imagine how overload might occur in any format.
Anyway, it must not be in the master so must be an artifact of your version.
*I had a problem with one crossover in my Magnestands and just had that repaired. Patricia now sounds wonderful.
