I purposely didn't list my opinion of the Janszens vs. xyz because everyone's priorities are different, but since you asked, my PERSONAL experience is this....of the Martin Logans I have had (Monolith IIs, CLS 2a's, Summits) the only ones I ever regret selling were the CLSs which I powered with a Classe DR-9 and paired with Vandersteen subs. Still a hint of the ML threadbare, but staggering in many respects. The Summits reminded me of Watt Puppies...I could admire what they achieved, but I could not love them. Now I know that lots of good people on the ML Owners site would disagree, as I said, YMMV. I also was a bit biased against the SUmmits because I bought them at the end of their production run, with a promise from the factory that they could be upgraded to the Summit X. When the X came out, no upgrade was possible, and they in essence said, tough, sell your (practically new but severely depreciated) Summits and buy Summit Xs.
I have had several pairs of Sound Lab A-1s, and I loved them - so musical and coherent, truly full range, but I had recurrent reliability problems that ruined the experience for me, and even with the white linen grille cloth, I found their presence in a room oppressive. The Innersound Eros I could never coax good sound out of and their construction quality left a lot to be desired - I did like the ESL amp though.
Quad 63s are a lovely speaker. I have owned them several times, and actually just had a trio rebuilt when I saw the Janszens. Three of them are rather wide however, and with four panels per speaker, there is lots that can and does go wrong. Having them on hand when I had the Janszens, in direct comparison I found the Janszens made the Quads sound veiled and wooly, something I thought was not possible.
The only Maggies I have had (other than wall mounts and centers) were the 1.6s, which I found to be unfailingly musical, produce surprising bass (when powered by the Innersound amp), but compared the ESLs they were lacking in clarity. I have not heard the 3.7s, which I am sure are superb speakers. If I were going two channel I would consider them, but I sure like the placement flexibility of the Janszens and the fact that they are not the most prominent feature of the room.
We are fortunate that so many companies make excellent products and our choices are many.
Cheers,
Mark
