Yeah, it's that 100-250 Hz dip that I really hear in the MMG's. Not the low bass extension -- you can hear it, of course, but it isn't what robs the music of weight.
Since the usable SPL of the MMG's is limited by bass excursion, I can see that you'd be reluctant to push that region up with EQ. I don't think you'd hear a digital conversion if it was applied just to the woofer, but I'd be concerned about adding group delay vis-a-vis the tweeter. On the other hand, taming that 60 Hz peak by a few dB with EQ would I think give you a real improvement in SPL/IMD. You could use an analog notch filter if you wanted to avoid the conversion. Just take it down a bit, so you keep the downward slope.
