Why not a little electrical EQ to smooth the bass "Wiggle"? The variations you are seeing would be audible with pink noise - but are likely very difficult to hear with music....
BTW - good job on the measurements... not much different than my own. The high freq roll-off >15KHz is more of a measurement artifact typical of line sources.
