Thank you for explaining why you used the rope caulk. I agree that it might well work at different frequencies to the Dynamat - so mixing'n'matching ain't a bad idea - but my Frankenpan rebates leave only a thin gap between the driver frame and the wood, so there won't be any room for this.
And thanks for the additional pic. Of course the strips can run across the reinforcing bars! :-)) It's just that my right-brain figured you should stop at each bar and start again the other side of it ... so the bar itself would be bare. Have another drink, Redwood!! :-))
I'll have to go in search of the black stuff.
