Wow, that brings back memories. Maybe it's the one I built? Anyway, I'd think a Stereo 400 would work elegantly for the bass, if it's in good shape (bias settings, electrolytics, etc.). Not for the higher frequencies, the 400 was excellent for its time but a lot has happened since in amplifier design.
