I'm using a similar amplifier on my 2.6's. Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature, series II. That runs 425/850 watts into 8 & 4 ohms respectively and can take impedance dips down to 2 ohms. This will likely be the last solid state amp I'll ever buy. Has a nice characteristic of a very low noise floor that the music emerges out of. If that makes sense.I had a brief correspondence with Bob Carver, in which he commented that Sunfire amplifiers were designed with with ribbons in mind. They were built to power speakers like the Carver Amazing's and Sunfire's ribbon drivers. He also said that he used Magnepan's in the speaker rotation to proof the Sunfire's. I have no reason to doubt him. The tracking down-converter power supply that they use are a pretty impressive achievement.
