If you have not already done so, also ensure the the "tension" or "tuning" buttons are tightened snuggly. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN as you can strip the hole. If that happens you'll need to insert a thicker screw.
Loose buttons can cause buzzing, someetimes very severe buzzing, at lower frquencies. Be careful not to stab or rip the Mylar. As you tighten the screws, the buttons will tend to turn in the dame direction putting stress on the Mylar which could cause a tear. Hold the button with the thumb and forefinger of one hand while tightening GENTLEY.
While the buzzing you observed may not be caused but the buttons, at least you should eliminate them as the cause. You can also experiment by pushing your finger firmly on the button and listen to a musical selection which causes buzzing to determine if the button is the cause.
Maggies, because you can never be too thin!
