I listen to my MMG's with a low power SS Creek 4330 (40w/ch) and find the sound very pleasing. I have much higher power amps available but I find that the simplicity of the low power is plenty for me even with occasional 90 db+ peaks. (although I do use an HSU sub). I would imagine that with the gentle clipping nature of tubes this would be even better
