I currently drive 1.6QRs with 4B-ST with HK 650 receiver as pre-amp. I switched from another well known monoblocs.

Compared to the monoblocs - In my room and set up I find the 4B-ST to provde a well balanced but slightly warmer(forward) very pleasant presentation that is non-tiring. I mostly listen to Jazz, Classical, New Age. If the SST is similar to the ST would recommend 4B-SST.

Something to remember - the audio quality to a great degree is also affected by the pre-amp used. I have noticed a degree of "roughness" if I am using the receiver's DAC as compred to the CD platyers.
