Cutting the socks

Hi,

Finally I'm going to upgrade the XO's on my 3.6's and would like to know where I have to cut the socks to put new caps and inductors. I've got nice Jantzen Z-Silver caps and am waiting for Goertz alpha-core inductors for the ribbon XO's, thanks to Nils.

Any photos? What would be the best way to fix the new stuff to the panels? Velcro? Can't get Blue Tack in the Netherlands. Eventually I want to put it all in a well damped extra enclosure but I'd like to experiment and listen a lot first ...

So for now the components for the mid panel will go on a wooden board for fine-tuning. I'll keep you posted. This is very *interesting* as I found that my Maggies are very sensitive, even the Cardas cables between the stock XO's and the panels did a lot of good. I'm still wondering how an extra 10 inch of cable can get so much more definition, it's just more cable, more resistance etc. ...

Perhaps I'll get new light grey socks anyway, I like them better than the black ones I got. Is it a lot of hassle to fix new socks?

Thanks already for your suggestions.

Cheers, Jörg.
