Hey Nils,

The ribbon is one of the most articulate, I’ve heard. Done right it so silky smooth, yet at the same time harsh, nasty with something bright in the chain. I’ve read the sst version refined the st treble, but appearently still not enough for the ribbon – heh. Your takeaway with the sst sums up what I heard with (4b-st, 7b-st) via the 3.6’s. I couldn’t flesh out the mids and tame the treble even via several tube (arc, rogue, ? ) preamps.

Why not keep the Quicksilver up top with a grunt amp down below?
