Hey D,

You’re right about there being two somewhat polar opposite impressions of the Brystons. Those who like them often describe them as neutral, yet others (including myself) hear them as lean, bright, and forward. I found the dryness of 4B-ST, 7B-ST made the maggie 1.6’s livelier; I could see those who find the 1.6’s mellow liking the pairing. When combined with the maggie 3.6’s; it was way too dry and aggressive. The highs in particuliar are not refined enough for the ribbon – imho. The newer SST supposedly has a warmer tone and more refined highs.
