room was 10x11 and my mmgs fit in there great. It was a challenging room because it had 3 doorways and one was a double door width.

But, I set them up sideways (the speakers were facing eachother witht eh thin part facing the listner) with the speakers about 2 ft from the traditional sidewall, and 5 ft from the traditional front wall. I listened 3 ft away and it was bliss.

I had love seat that I sat on, and there was a hutch and bookcase too. I could have put a desk in there if I wanted, and because of a walkway, the room was smaller by the size of a doorway.

Sure nothing was optimum, and there was a nice bass null until I moved my sub around, but it can be done if you are creative.

Newform makes some bookshelf speakers with ribons that might take up less room than some MMGs, but I bet with some creativity, this poster can make it happen especially, as you say, if a nearfield setup is used.
