Too much current x voltage (= heat dissipation) for the 300-600V shunt regulator kit. You are talking something like 60 watts! Sounds like not too much, but doing the heat sink calculations suggests a pretty big heat sink and multiple shunt transistors. The on-board heat sinks are rated for 6.5watts.
