Any time something like this happens it is a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family. This country needs to look at the declined state of its mental health services. Having worked in the medical field for a decade, I saw federally and state ran mental health facilities close one after another throughout the 90’s into the 2000’s. Instead of receiving help, these people are left untreated until they land in the criminal justice system.
