Interstage transformer to 600R recommendation needed

I’m planning a phono stage, 2 stages, with 600R LCR RIAA equalization.
The first tube will be D3a, triode strapped, transformer loaded, transformed into the 600R LCR.
An experienced tubes amps designer recommended the LL1692A/18mA, yet I wonder. With D3a ‘trioded’ plate resistance of 1.9K and 1692A in 3.5:1 ratio, the 600R LCR will be reflected to 2.1K load to the tube, which seems too low.
Is there a more suitable transformer for that purpose?

While I’m at it, I have a general question concerning Lundahl interstage transformers.
I read somewhere that Lundahl can adjust the air gap in some transformers to enable higher current through the primary than the shelf transformers are rated.
Is it correct?
If yes, what is the estimated price difference for what may be a special order?
Also, if yes, is there a penalty in some other parameters when the gap is changed?
