Capacitor Polarity on PC Board

Hello Kevin,
Is the convention to always show the negative terminal of a polarized capacitor with a round solder pad on a pc board and a square pad for the positive? I'm referring to the new phono preamp upgrade. I wasn't sure of how to solder the cap until I saw the photo on page 4, especially since the positive lead goes to the pcb ground. Thanks.
