LL1660 and its 's' version

http://www.audiodesignguide.com/my/pp3.html

I have built this amp about 10 years ago as an experiment with
LL1669A as power trx per channel.
LL1660 25ma as interstage
LL1663 PP as output.

I would like to upgrade the interstage using a LL1660 (10ma using 2.25 : 2+2) using D3a as the driver tube running at 18ma. (parallel the 2.25 coil give me 18ma gap). By the way I am upgrading to a pair of KT120 per channel as well.

I have got 2 questions here.

1) I am wondering if the 's' version will be more suitable as phase splitting interstage.

2) Will an amorphous core have higher performance in this application with a 10mA gap ?

Thanks.
Alan
