PP or SE driver for SE 845??

Kevin,

Assuming all other conditions are equal, will the SE driver require a bigger IT transformer compared to the PP driver for the same swing?
Never seen a schematic of the power amp like PP-to-SE, is there any sonic drawback using a PP driver for a high power output tube, say 845, in SE? it seems a lot depends on first stages and having them in differential configuration should sound better. Also, the PP IT transformer is capable of much larger voltage swing for the demanding 845, am I missing something?

Would appreciate for your comments,
HL
