Your first decision is: do you want to upgrade the electronics in the Mood Indigo? John Tracy chose to do so and his unit is shown here: http://www.raleighaudio.com/tracy.htm John used the Mark I RAKK dac 12V power supply and stood it on edge. The Mark II draws more current than the Mark I so its power supply is physically larger, precluding setting it on edge. I don’t know if there is room to lay it flat, you would have to verify that. You would also need a separate 12V control power supply.
Assuming that you don’t want to upgrade the electronics, you would need to use a Passive Output board for the RAKK dac. The existing 12V supply may have enough juice to run the RAKK dac; at the very least, you would need to remove the HV bias on the 12V common and reference it to ground. I have no idea how it would sound and would recommend using the RAKK dac Mark II 12V power supply for the RAKK dac and leaving the existing 12V supply for control and filaments.
In any event, whichever way you choose to go, your first step is to make paper templates of all of the parts and shuffle them to see how you want to lay out the project.
