I have some 6c45 tubes that I wanted to try in an amp I am building. I want to use them at about 150V w/ 20-25mA of current to go into a PP stage (driver or power I have not decided yet, depends on budget.) The 1660s looks good, but the datasheets only mention 10 or 18 mA options. Would the 18mA sound ok if I used the tube at 20 or more mA? Also the tube datasheets I have found only mention a current of 40mA, would I be losing fidelity by biasing so cold? If so is there a wiring scheme to keep an 18mA IT happy at 40mA? Parallel primarys maybe?
