I recently had Kevin Carter build me a Line stage to replace my TVC (w/ S & B iron) that he too built for me two years ago. I am using a K&K phono stage and a non K&K custom made GM70 monos. I have had a good deal of time to run a head-to-head comparison with the line stage and the TVC...bottom line the line stage is a more sophisticated sound. The TVC gives a very detailed and polite sound with no noise. But the line stage has less grain, less high freq roll-off, bigger more balanced soundstage. The TVC, the Voice was more forward and the accompanying music was more in the background
