If you are comparing the LL1623/90mA and the LL1664/100mA with 8 ohm speakers, there is a pretty small difference. In a small way the LL1664 offers better measured performance at the high frequency end of the spectrum, probably because it's a smaller transformer with the resulting samller degree of stray capacitance and inductance. However, if you want the better sonic performance of iron amorphous cores, then I recommend the LL1623AM/70mA, because the AM material has a lower maximum flux level and winds into a core with more air and less iron for a given size resulting in a lower maximum power at low frequencies. The data sheet link below describes the phenomenon. An LL1664AM/70mA would only be capable of about 5w at 30Hz.
