Good grief, what a question. For the kits I use Belden Teflon insulated silver plated copper wire, because it is not bad sounding and really nice to use. If I were able to get it in a format that was not labor intensive or difficult to use, I would wire my products with high purity continuous cast copper. Unfortunately it seems only to come with PVC or with thin polyurethane (like magnet wire) insulation. PVC is a pain, because it melts at too low a temperature, and the polyurethane has to be burned off in a solder pot for every connection. Ugghhh. I like the Cardas wire, too, although I find it slightly "brighter" sounding than continuous cast copper, but it's back to the solder pot and it's a pain for DIYers and for production. I know that many of you believe that good sound should require the most obscure forms of pain, but I don't. ;=)) DH Labs AG-23 is pretty good stuff, too.
