My understanding, based on Lynn Olson's presentation, is that the dual CSS schematic would not work. http://www.nutshellhifi.com/library/ETF.html
The DC path would be fine. The AC path would have to traverse the high Z Cathode CSS to complete the AC circuit, and thus provide no (very little) gain. The only workaround I can see is a bypass cap (or Pseudo-ultrapath cap) on each CSS. A single CSS works for the diff amp because the AC circuit is completed between the cathodes.
