Kevin and all others interested,
Now, the schematic I posted, I just understood, differes from what you suggested. At the beginning I thought you reversed the order of things by mistake, now I know you didn't. I was helped by a good and very knowledgeable friend to understand and come to this conclusion.
1. My idea was to simply supply the tubes with a given bias current, each one independently for self-biasing operation;
2. You design idea was to supply the pair with a given bias current, maintained constant over the ani-phase operation of the tubes in the PP pair. This would also maintain class A operation no matter what (given a proper operating point for the tubes).
Is this correct?
I guess the first idea
1. might not work at all - because of the PP anti-phase operation (?), or
2. be less effective or not beneficial for a PP geometry of operation.
Which one is it?
Thanks much,
Radu.
