Steve Nugent at Empirical Audio might be of some assistance to you on this. He has a lot of experience in I2S interfaces and has developed a board that can be installed in a Benchmark DAC. I have a transport and DAC with I2S interface which I am considering sending to Steve to modify. H emay be able to answer your questions.
