I am planning my next project (300b amity) using all Lundahl iron. If I use a single 8hy choke with a 1uf snubber and 200uf main cap, I should get around 625mv of ripple (assuming 200 ma draw). If I go to lclc using 1uf snubber, 2.5h, 47uf, 2.5h, 94uf I would get 74mv ripple with same load, according to simulator. My question is: Are there any pitfalls to the second option that might not be obvious to me (ringing, etc). Other than the expense of the extra choke, it seems at first glance to offer better filtering with smaller caps.
