Re: B+ for K&K CCS

It turns out that the voltage drop across the current source necessary for correct operation as a current source is just a few volts. When you use the CCS as a plate load, you typically need a B+ in excess of the tube's operating point B+ by about, say, 15%-25% to allow for line voltage variation, assuming you don't have a regulated supply. The CCS turns the excess B+ above the tube's requirement into heat and maintains the constant current.
