LL1660. Now I'm getting somewhere.

Maybe I'm just a SRPP junkie but I finally got around to setting up a LL1660/10mA fed via a 76 SRPP. Each section running with it's own filament transformer and with a plate-cathode voltage of 185V and 5.9mA. I used the S configuration simply because that's the way the IT was set from playing before. I thought I'd just give it a try and then change to the T configuration. But it sounds soooooo good I think I'll leave it this way for a few days before I start playing again. The gain is a little low but not a problem when using a preamp. Right now I've got it hooked up to a Marantz 3300.

Now I can try this amp with fixed bias and eliminate the cathode (electrolytic) bypass.

In any case (for now) I'm a happy camper with an IT.

Pete.
